Galvanised after manufacture to BS443 is our standard finish This is suitable in most environments. For extra longevity and aesthetics you may want to consider the green or black pvc coated mesh rolls. If you're in a salt spray corrosive environment you may want to consider stainless steel. Stainless steel 304 is the standard grade, Stainless steel 316 os food or marine grade. Self colour (Mild steel), is the ideal choice if you intend to weld it into a frame or structure (Only available in Sheets). Self colour will rust as soon as it is exposed to any moisture, hence powder coating or galvanising after manufacture is strongly advised. Galfan is a specialist Galvanised finish that lasts 60 yrs (Only available in Sheets)

Not all apetures and wire thicknesses are available at your given height. Dont make a selection and move onto Apeture if this not the most important criteria.

This depends on what you intend to use the mesh for. For fencing a 2” square is normally used this will keep out dogs and people but won’t protect against vermin. For a chicken run a 1” x 1” aperture is the largest you should use this will allow vermin through. If you want to keep out all but the smallest of vermin ½ x ½ or a 1 x ½ aperture should be used. This aperture is also very common for garden fencing to keep out rabbits. ¼ x ¼  mesh is what is used for bird feeders. If you need a smaller aperture you should look at the range of woven wires we sell. An anti climb mesh 3” x ½ inch is commonly used for high security this is sometimes called a 358 or prison mesh. The narrow aperture stops attempted climbers getting a grip.

23g (0.7mm) is suitable for birdfeeders 19g (1mm) Is common for cheaper chicken runs and garden fencing 16g (1.6mm) Is used for good quality chicken runs and vermin protection 14g (2mm) Often used with a 1” aperture for extra strength also used with a 1” x1/2” aperture in parrot fencing. 12g (2.5mm) This is the most common thickness for dog and perimeter fencing 10g (3mm) Strong perimeter fencing used in areas of potential vandalism 9g (3.5mm) This is the thickness of our animal panels 8g and 6g used for security purposes or to add strength on large apertures.
